The above illustration shows the main features which comprise the Ideal Budgerigar, which is required to be, above all things, a well balanced bird - shown in perfect feather condition.

For further reading see the Budgerigar Society's scale of Points, as applied to the different colour Varieties, and the individual Colour standards. A knowledge of the latter is particularly useful as there are certain varieties which look very similar - but not in Minor respects !
